About

Hi! I'm Crystal! After a lifetime of feeling like I was never good enough and letting my insecurities run my life I decided enough was enough. I gave myself permission to be who I was created to be and guess what...it turns out there's a lot of freedom living that way! Now I want nothing more than to do whatever I can to make people feel comfortable being who they are; because it usually turns out that what we think is weird is actually normal.

I started on Etsy in 2016 making signs. My mother in law had passed away from breast cancer in 2015. She loved crafts. She was also the kind of person who always had a kind word to encourage you with. To keep her legacy alive I took the crafting supplies I inherited from her and began making signs with encouraging words to cheer on others the same way she did to her family and friends.

Then mid 2021 one ugly wooden bunny changed everything. Enter The Creeps...

"What is an LWD CREEP?"

\ ˈkrēp \
Definition of Creep
1 : to move slowly and carefully, in order to avoid being heard or noticed

2 : an imperfect wooden cut out that’s a  reminder for you to always be true to yourself

One day I set out to cut a perfect little wooden animal. After I finished cutting the first one, I looked down in utter disappointment. It just looked weird—uneven & lopsided, it was the lumpiest, bumpiest thing I had ever seen. It looked more creepy than cute.

A complete fail. It didn’t measure up. It wasn’t good enough. So, I threw it to the side and swore to never think about it again.

But then I realized how often we can feel this way about ourselves.

Society is so quick to tell us we don’t measure up—making us feel unwanted, unseen, outcasted, and simply not good enough. This leaves us with the desire to creep through life in a way that allows us to avoid being heard or noticed so our flaws go undetected.

The irony?
The “imperfections” we often try to hide are the qualities that are most beautiful about who we are.

So I picked up my creepy creature and decided to embrace it in all of it’s lopsided glory.

The now appropriately named, Creeps, stand as a reminder to always be yourself no matter what society tells you. Embrace who you are because the world needs YOU… including all of your weird, lumpy, bumpy imperfections!

Now I continue to keep my mother in law's legacy of love and encouragement alive by making weird, misshapen, perfectly imperfect wood animals & wood creations.

With over 2300 five star sales on Etsy, I am so excited to now have my own website!
